Their Requirement:

Tudor Primary School wanted to improve their communications and reduce printing costs. Email lists and web pages have limited impact and social media can be expensive. They knew that digital signage was growing in popularity but like many schools were unsure how to make it work for them.
They turned to Trusol as their trusted IT supplier for advice. Following a free consultation we helped them answer the ‘who, where and how’ questions that enabled them to make an informed choice and begin their journey with digital signage.
With decreasing budgets, schools have to find ways to make their operations more efficient. By switching to digital signage, cost savings can be achieved in many ways such as staff time, print costs and better results achieved through good communications.

Our solution

A managed service was chosen with a phased introduction to allow them to efficiently and effectively introduce digital signage. Trusol provided initial content design services plus training, templates and advice to ensure everyone who needs to communicate could do so easily.
The parents are the most important viewers but actually rarely need to enter the building itself, so we installed an outdoor 55” screen mounted in portrait with an elegant and secure all-weather surround.
All staff & children plus their parents and carers can see a short series of posters, slides and videos during drop off and collection time. Operation is timed so it only comes on during those periods, giving a significant energy saving. For peace of mind, our service agreement covers on-site technical support and the Samsung commercial grade screen is designed for long outdoor use with excellent warranty cover
Remote monitoring and managed support means that all the staff need to do is input the content into their template and submit it for display – Trusol looks after everything else with ongoing support, advice and training.

Results

The screen delivers reliable signage, always giving the correct message at just the right time. New messages get the parents talking and it’s a highly effective way to get information out quickly.
A ‘surround’ with the school logo has been designed into the screen layout making it easy for the staff to display professional looking content. Other elements such as QR codes have also been introduced.
The school are enjoying the simplicity with which they can communicate. It’s been used to educate, to promote events, for making important announcements and also for positive, fun and welcoming messages.
